The 'What If' Mindset

The 'What If' Mindset ...

How a 'What If' positive reframe can elevate your mindset

Each & every moment of each & every day is a chance to open our minds to new information, data & perspectives. And this occurs not only while we're awake but also during sleep, when our conscious mind is resting but our subconscious mind is still fully active.

When we're awake we experience a myriad of external stimuli via all of our senses & both our conscious & subconscious minds are interpreting them & apportioning value, worth & meaning. But when we're asleep it's just the subconscious mind (the most powerful part!) that's active .. reinforcing our habits, thought patterns & beliefs. The subconscious mind will also be trying to find solutions for unresolved problems from throughout the day. And this is why mindset is so important!

Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right.

If you have a closed, negative or limited mindset (as many of us do at different times throughout our lives) it will be impossible for any completely new or original solutions or approaches to be formulated by our conscious mind while we're awake or our subconscious mind while we're awake or asleep.

But if your mindset is more positive, chances are that your subconscious may just approach things in a more creative & resourceful way, which will cultivate a positivity loop.

The age old question - "What if?" - when framed positively can allow us to open our minds to different perspectives & this can make an enormous difference to our mindset. If we allow ourselves to contemplate another perspective, instead of just believing the negative crap we automatically tell ourselves, we may just unlock something powerfully resourceful within us.

What if mindset, questions, positive reframe
What if I apply for that job & get it?

What if I start that course I've been contemplating & love it?

What if I start trusting my proven track record of success?

What if I can live my life in a different way?

That negative voice may attempt to force itself in, but because you've framed your question positively, your ability to connect with what you truly value about/for yourself will be amplified. So you will be able to imagine the better, more positive response to the question.

Being able to imagine this will impact your mindset immediately (even in a small way); open you up to new perspectives; your brain will release endorphins & serotonin so you will feel happy, optimistic & capable; & when you make this type of "What if" positive questioning & thinking a habit, your brain will actually create new neural pathways. And, in turn, this will just continue to create & reinforce that positivity loop. So, while you're asleep, your subconscious will also be functioning, imagining, creating, thinking & believing from a more positive perspective.

Every small step toward positivity will reap rewards mentally & physically & those rewards will compound over time.

So, allow yourself to have that first positive thought & enjoy the experience .. & as another positive thought arises .. just allow yourself to imagine, enjoy & get a sense of these new possibilities .. & as you continue to enjoy this experience you will be rewarded with greater levels of positivity & possibility ..
